Our Doctors

Our four Doctors-- Gary L. Englund, Douglas L. Major, Karen R. Kudija and Daniel Hile-- form our group to give what we feel is the best eye care available. They are all licensed to treat and detect anterior eye diseases and are on call for all eye emergencies. Our staff and Doctors undergo mandatory continuing education to insure the most up-to-date quality care possible.

Daniel Hile, O.D.

Dr. Hile received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1995. He graduated with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2000. Dr. Hile has received several awards for academic achievement and for clinical excellence in the areas of ocular disease and special testing and also in the area of low vision.

Douglas L. Major, O.D., F.A.A.O., F.C.O.J.O.

Dr. Major received his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1985 after completing his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University. While in professional school, he received numerous national awards for his research in the areas of computer assisted visual skills and visual problems associated with juvenile delinquency.

Karen R. Kudija, O.D.

Dr. Kudija graduated salutatorian of her class from the So. Calif. College of Optometry in 1990 after receiving a BS Degree at UC Berkeley in 1981. She has been involved with researching the link between vision problems and juvenile delinquency. She is a member of the American/California Optometric Association.

Gary L. Englund, O.D.

Dr. Englund received a Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California at Irvine. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California School of Optometry in 1977.
